It Cuts The Shift Where The Law Does

At midnight, at the day/night boundary and around your unpaid break — so a Saturday night into Sunday is priced as two different things, because it is

Rates Held As Dated Data

Colombia's Sunday surcharge steps to 100% on 1 July 2027 and the app already computes it. Recalculate a shift from last March and you get last March's rate

Every Line Cites Its Article

A breakdown that says CST 168 num. 3 next to the number is something you can take to an employer; one that just says a number is not

Colombia And Mexico In One App

Ley 2466's 7pm night boundary and the 42-hour week, alongside Mexico's jornada types and the phased 48-to-40 ladder

Holidays Computed, Not Listed

Ley Emiliani moves seven Colombian holidays to a Monday and two more hang off Easter. Jornada works them out for any year, offline, so the list never runs out

Nothing Leaves Your Phone

No account, no server, no backup. Your salary and your hours are yours, and we have no copy to lose

An estimate, and it says so

Jornada tells you what your hours are probably worth. It is a calculator, not a payroll system: it pays no one, files nothing, and is not connected to any employer or government body. Anything that matters should be checked with your employer, your union, or the labour authority in your country.

That notice is not buried in a settings screen. It renders instead of the app the first time you open it, and it is printed on every breakdown — because a screenshot travels without the warning attached.

The part everyone gets wrong

Colombian surcharges do not all mean the same thing, and treating them as if they did is the commonest defect in this category of software.

A night surcharge on an ordinary Monday-to-Saturday hour adds 35% and nothing else, because that hour is already paid inside your monthly salary. An overtime hour, and any Sunday or holiday hour, pays the whole hour plus the surcharge — because neither is inside the ordinary working day. Article 179 says the Sunday surcharge is owed “sin perjuicio del salario ordinario”: the salary paid that Sunday as rest, not as work.

Get it wrong one way and a Sunday is short by a whole hour. Get it wrong the other and every night hour is paid nearly twice over.

Why the rates are dated

Colombia’s working week reached 42 hours on 15 July 2026. The night band moved from 21:00 to 19:00 on 25 December 2025. The Sunday surcharge went to 80% in July 2025, to 90% in July 2026, and reaches 100% in July 2027. Mexico’s week starts a four-step descent to 40 hours on 1 January 2027.

An app that hard-codes today is wrong the moment a step lands — and quietly wrong about the past, because a shift you worked in March has to be priced at March’s rate. Jornada stores every value with the dates it was in force, so both directions come out right without an update.

Where the ads are, and are not

Jornada is free and carries ads. They appear on the home screen, on the breakdown list and in settings. They never appear over a pay figure, on an export, or while you are typing in hours.
