Inkfold Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 29, 2026
Introduction
Inkfold ("the app") is being developed by Grisu Studio and is not yet released. This policy describes how the app is designed to behave; it will be reviewed before the app is published, and the "Last Updated" date will change with it. Inkfold has no accounts, no login and no servers of ours, and it cannot send a message to anyone. Every letter you write is saved to the app's private storage on your device and stays there; we never see it. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google's advertising SDK sends in order to serve the ads that keep the app free, and you control whether those ads are personalised.
Scope
This privacy policy applies solely to the Inkfold mobile application.
Data We Collect
Stored on your device only, never transmitted to us: the day contact ended, your letters (the text, when it was written, its word count and whether it is filed), the dated stubs of letters you let go (the text of a let-go letter is erased before its animation starts, and cannot be recovered), the days you logged reaching out, each day's small thing and whether you did it, and your settings (the vault lock, reminders and their time, quiet hours, theme, sounds, haptics, language). The answer to the one-time age question is kept as a bracket only, "under 13" or "13 or over", never a date of birth. The vault lock uses your device's own Face ID or biometric check; the app only learns whether it succeeded and never receives any biometric data. Collected by Google AdMob, not by us, in order to serve ads: your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) where permitted, IP address, coarse device information such as model and operating system version, and ad interaction data. Your letters are never shown to, read by or passed to the ad SDK. The app never asks for your contacts, messages, name, email address, phone number, location, camera, photos or microphone.
How We Use Your Data
Your letters and days are used only to draw the app's own screens. They are never uploaded, shared or analysed by us, and the app contains no analytics of its own. Reminders are off until you turn them on; turning them on asks for notification permission at that moment, after one short screen of ours with a single Continue button, and they are local notifications scheduled by your own device, with no push token, never sent during your quiet hours. Their wording never mentions a person, a letter or the app's purpose, because a lock screen can be seen by others. The help row opens findahelpline.com; the app sends nothing with it. Sharing a day card opens your system share sheet with an image you send wherever you choose; letters themselves are never part of it. Advertising data is used by Google to deliver and measure ads: one banner on the Settings screen only. There are no full-screen or rewarded ads, and never an ad beside your letters. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google's consent form appears before any ad loads. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency alert appears when you return to Home after filing your first letter, after your first day card share, or when you open Settings, Privacy and ads; never at launch, never after letting a letter go and with no screen of ours before it, and no ad is requested until it has been answered. Declining either keeps ads non-personalised rather than removing them, and you can revisit both in Settings under Privacy and ads. Every ad request caps the content rating, and dating ads are blocked above all, along with betting, alcohol, drug, sexual-health, weight-loss and get-rich-quick ads.
Children's Privacy
Inkfold is listed for ages 13 and over and is not directed to children. The app asks one neutral, skippable age question and keeps the answer as a bracket. If you indicate you are under 13, the app switches to child-directed ad treatment on that device: ads are restricted to general audiences, never personalised, no advertising identifier is used, and Apple's tracking alert is never shown. The setting can be changed at any time in Settings under Privacy and ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to: no account, no messaging, no upload.
Data Security
Because we run no servers and hold no database of our own, there is no copy of your letters anywhere for us to lose or be compelled to hand over. Your data lives in the app's private storage on your device, protected by the operating system's sandboxing, your device encryption and, if you turn it on, the vault lock. "Delete all my data" in Settings erases it at once and cancels every reminder, and uninstalling the app removes it permanently. Data handled by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This policy will be reviewed before the app is released and updated whenever the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects it; the "Last Updated" date above will change with it. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Contact Us
Questions, corrections or a request to delete data: email support@grisu.co with "Inkfold privacy" in the subject. Because all of your data is held on your own device, a deletion request is fulfilled by "Delete all my data" in Settings or by uninstalling the app; we hold nothing to delete on our side.
