Yearfold Datenschutzerklärung

Einleitung

Yearfold ("the app") is being developed by Grisu Studio and is not yet released. This policy describes how the app is designed to behave; it will be reviewed before the app is published, and the "Last Updated" date will change with it. Yearfold has no accounts, no login and no servers of ours. Every line you write is saved to the app's private storage on your device and stays there; we never see it. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google's advertising SDK sends in order to serve the ads that keep the app free, and you control whether those ads are personalised.

Welche Daten wir erheben

Stored on your device only, never transmitted to us: your lines (the text, the date it belongs to, and when it was written or edited) and your settings (the evening reminder and its time, whether the lock is on, theme, language). The answer to the one-time age question is kept as a bracket only, "under 13" or "13 or over", never a date of birth. The lock uses your device's own Face ID or fingerprint check; the app only learns whether it succeeded and never receives any biometric data. Collected by Google AdMob, not by us, in order to serve ads: your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) where permitted, IP address, coarse device information such as model and operating system version, and ad interaction data. Your diary is never shown to, read by or sent to the ad SDK. The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, camera, photos or microphone.

Wie wir deine Daten nutzen

Your lines are used only to draw the app's own screens: today, the stacks, the Year view and search. They are never uploaded, shared or analysed by us, and the app contains no analytics of its own. A PDF booklet is built on your device and handed to your system share sheet; where it goes next is your choice. The evening reminder is off until you turn it on; turning it on asks for notification permission at that moment, and it is a local notification scheduled by your own device, with no push token. Advertising data is used by Google to deliver and measure ads: a banner on the Year and Settings screens only, never on the page you write on, and no full-screen ads at all. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google's consent form appears before any ad loads. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency alert appears just after you save your first line, or when you open Settings, Privacy and ads; never at launch and with no screen of ours before it, and no ad is requested until it has been answered. Declining either keeps ads non-personalised rather than removing them, and you can revisit both in Settings under Privacy and ads. Every ad request caps the content rating, and alcohol, betting and dating ads are blocked.

Datenschutz von Kindern

Yearfold is listed for ages 13 and over and is not directed to children. The app asks one neutral, skippable age question and keeps the answer as a bracket. If you indicate you are under 13, the app switches to child-directed ad treatment on that device: ads are restricted to general audiences, never personalised, no advertising identifier is used, and Apple's tracking alert is never shown. The setting can be changed at any time in Settings under Privacy and ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to: no account, no messaging, no upload.

Datensicherheit

Because we run no servers and hold no database of our own, there is no copy of your diary anywhere for us to lose or be compelled to hand over. Your lines live in the app's private storage on your device, protected by the operating system's sandboxing and your device encryption, and optionally by the lock. "Delete all my data" in Settings erases them at once and switches the reminder off, and uninstalling the app removes them permanently. Export a booklet first if you want to keep a copy. Data handled by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Änderungen dieser Erklärung

This policy will be reviewed before the app is released and updated whenever the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects it; the "Last Updated" date above will change with it. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Because all of your data is held on your own device, a deletion request is fulfilled by "Delete all my data" in Settings or by uninstalling the app; we hold nothing to delete on our side.
