About Wordtrio
A newspaper puzzle page for your phone: Stepword, a word ladder where you change one letter at a time to turn a start word into an end word before par runs out; Letterwheel, seven letters around a mandatory centre where you find every word the wheel holds and climb from Good to Great to Brilliant; and Lattice, a 5x5 crisscross grid where you place a word list so every crossing letter agrees. All three share one streak — any one of them keeps it alive — and solving all three in a day is a perfect day. Coins earned by playing buy a hint in whichever mode is stuck, rewarded ads top up the balance, and eight achievement tracks never finish. Everything runs on your device with no account.
Features
Stepword: Change One Letter at a Time
A word ladder from a start word to an end word, one real word per rung. Par is the shortest known solution — solve at or under par for three stars, up to two over for two, anything else still counts as solved
Letterwheel: Find Every Word
Seven letters around a centre letter that has to appear in every word you make. Score climbs from Good to Great to Brilliant as a percentage of the wheel's total points, the wheel's own pangram is the day's biggest prize, and it stays open all day — the score only grows
Lattice: Fill the Grid
A 5x5 crisscross of three across words and three down words. Tap a word from the list, then tap the slot it belongs in — a placement only sticks if every letter it crosses agrees with what's already there
One Streak, Three Ways to Keep It
Finishing any one of the three daily puzzles keeps the shared streak alive; finishing all three is a perfect day, worth bonus coins and its own achievement track. No mode is mandatory, so a busy day still counts
Coins, Hints and Endless Achievements
Earn coins by playing — faster, cleaner solves and an active streak pay more. Spend them on a hint built for whichever mode is stuck, or watch a rewarded ad for a top-up. Eight achievement tracks (ladders solved, wheel words found, star words found, lattices solved and more) never finish
Everything on Your Device
No account, no login, no server of ours. Your streak, coins, progress and settings are stored locally in the app; nothing about your puzzles is uploaded anywhere
