About Uncipher

One monoalphabetic cryptogram a day — the same puzzle for everyone in a language, keyed to your local day — built from a public-domain quote by a Stoic, Austen, Twain, Wilde, Sor Juana or one of 358 quotes in English or Spanish. Tap a cipher letter, tap a plaintext letter, and every occurrence fills in at once, with live letter-frequency counts and conflicting guesses highlighted instead of blocked. Beyond the daily there is a Cipher Academy: six real ciphers — Caesar with a shift dial, Atbash, A1Z26, keyword substitution, rail fence and the Polybius square — each with its true history and an interactive decoding tool, taught with an intro pack and tested with a no-crutches expert pack. Streaks count the days you show up, coins buy hints, badges never finish, and a magnifying-glass mascot named Fig keeps you company. Everything runs on your device with no account.

Features

One Cryptogram a Day, Untimed

A monoalphabetic substitution of a public-domain quote — the same puzzle for everyone in a language, keyed to your local calendar day. Tap a cipher letter, then a plaintext letter, and every matching occurrence fills in at once. There is no clock — just the case in front of you

358 Quotes from the Stoics, Austen, Twain, Wilde and More

Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, Twain, Wilde, Austen, Cervantes, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, José Martí, Simón Bolívar and other pre-1930 figures, 301 in English and 57 in Spanish — pick which language the daily quote is in from Settings

Frequency Counts and Conflict Highlighting

A live letter-frequency bar shows which cipher letters show up most, the classic first move in cracking a substitution cipher by hand. Two cipher letters claiming the same plaintext letter get highlighted instead of blocked — the highlight is the teaching moment, not a wall

Cipher Academy: Six Real Ciphers, History Included

Caesar shift with a live-decoding dial, Atbash, A1Z26, keyword substitution, rail fence and the Polybius square — each with a short true history and its own interactive decoding tool. An intro pack shows you the parameter; an expert pack hides it, so you find it by trial or by recall

Coins, Hints, Streaks and Endless Badges

A streak grows on any day you finish the daily, win or lose. Coins earned per solve buy a Reveal (fills one letter's true mapping) or a Confirm (checks your current guesses without giving anything away), topped up by a rewarded ad. Six badge ladders run to infinity — Codebreaker I, II, III and on

A Spy-Archive Look, and Everything on Your Device

Charcoal case-file paper, amber typewriter ink for the cipher, teal fountain-pen ink for what you solve, and Fig — a magnifying glass whose lens doubles as a squinting eye. No account, no login, no server of ours: your streak, coins and progress live in the app's storage on your phone
