N-Back
Train the task. Skip the hype.
About N-Back
A dual N-back trainer with a monochrome, editorial interface and no promises it cannot keep. Position and audio streams, adjustable N from 1 to 9, auto-levelling that raises and lowers with your accuracy, and honest per-stimulus scoring. A daily challenge with a streak, a level-over-time chart, and your history framed as your history — not as an IQ claim.
Features
Dual N-Back, Done Properly
Position and audio streams on the same beat, with match seeding and precision-and-recall scoring implemented as pure, unit-tested logic
Auto-Levelling
N rises when your accuracy holds and falls when it does not, so the task stays at the edge of what you can do
Three Modes, One Engine
Dual, single position and single audio, all driven by the same tested engine rather than three near-copies
Per-Stimulus Accuracy
Position and sound scored separately, because they usually are not equal and the average hides it
Daily Challenge And Streak
A weekday rail, a flame, and a freeze joker for the day life gets in the way
Honest Statistics
Level over time, average accuracy and speed, presented as your own history — no claims about transfer to anything else

An honesty note, up front
Brain-training transfer claims are scientifically contested. N-Back does not promise you a higher IQ, better grades or sharper thinking in daily life, because the evidence for those claims is not settled and an app that asserts them is selling you something.
What it does promise is a well-built implementation of the dual N-back task: correct match seeding, honest scoring, precise beat timing and a clean record of what you actually did. If you want to train the task, this trains the task.
Auto-levelling keeps it hard
The task is only useful at the edge of your ability. N-Back raises the level when your accuracy holds above a threshold and lowers it when it drops, so you spend your time where the work is rather than grinding a level you have already beaten.
Never interrupted
The task demands continuous attention, so no ad ever appears during a session. Ads live on the menu, the stats screen and settings — nowhere that could break a run or corrupt the numbers.
